seasons for change

Bees are buzzing

Life’s awoken

Trees are budding

Spring has spoken

Leaves have grown

and birds have flown

and lives have sown

a tapestry.

Here we live and breathe each season

Peaks are rising without reason

Bringing us to joyous heights

We enjoy laughter and other delights <3

thankful for health, and bike rides with anonymous friends! (and shy herons, hence the one drawn here  😛 )

But storms bring rain and lightning bolts

We run for cover and pray, and hope

God make me into a stronger man

to endure more pain as I grow old

And the rain soon stops and the clouds part ways

And we return to the mountain where the birds and beasts play.

summer sun means natural highlights! 🙂

But we remember the storm

and all that we learned

and are thankful for this dance

as our lives leap and turn~

some twenty things for twenty somethings

“Quarter-life crisis”

That’s what I was Googling last night. Similar to the classic mid-lifer except instead of dealing with whether or not to fix my porsche or divorce my spouse, I’m dealing with things related to not knowing where I’ll be living in a few months, what job opportunity I should grasp, whether or not to attend grad school, and whether or not falling in love will fix all of my problems or create many more. Thru-Hiking the Long Trail Day 1

It’s been a while!

IMAG4150

campground #13 with judith, pre-trail

In the last couple of weeks I finished up nannying, cleaned my last house for a while, cleaned up my room to get it ready to sublet, cooked & dehydrated my last couple boxes of pasta, and hiked 57 miles through the Green Mountains!

My friend Judith drove me to Williamstown, MA last Wednesday and we dined at Noco Pastaria and camped at the Winston County Park. They had a nice pond to swim in, and a clean & quiet bath house to shower in. We started the trail on Thursday the 3rd and Judith hiked the first 3.3 miles with me until we reached the official start of the Long Trail, just over the Massachusetts border.

My journal entry from day 1:

“Thursday, 9/3/15 LT Day 1    7:02 PM      6.7 hiked Continue reading “Thru-Hiking the Long Trail Day 1”

ebb & flow

I scurried down a steep rock face using my hands to grab onto the edge of boulders as I felt out good places to put my shoes as I climbed down towards the sea. My bike should be okay up there. I don’t think anyone would steal it. Nahh, it’s a small island. I’ll turn around and check on it every couple of minutes. I placed my foot on what I thought to be a sturdy rock but it wobbled back and forth as I Continue reading “ebb & flow”

the long trail

Currently can’t stop blogging. This whole wordpress thing is pretty addicting. And it’s awesome because it gives me a justifiable excuse to be introverted. Frankly, I can be pretty social too. When I’m around my people who I feel at ease with, friends, mentors, family (for the most part), I talk and joke and laugh and want to do fun things with them. I moved to a new place in a new state alone a few months ago and it’s been an interesting journey to say the least. In order to find out anything about where Continue reading “the long trail”
