I love waking up peacefully. With no alarm. Feeling like I’ve gotten enough rest. This hasn’t happened in a long time! I do tend to wake up before my alarm, but my waking is still not born out of a state of peace, but rather one of the anticipatory need to wake up and accomplish the first tasks of the day before moving onto the next ones.
Born. What an amazing thing it IS to be born. Born. “Existing as a result of birth”. I am thankful! To be here… on this crazy journey of life! It’s so much to think about. But I don’t have to worry, because I am grounded. On the birth of another:
“For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government shall be on his shoulders.
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father <3 Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end. “
Isaiah 9:6-7
Yes.
My grounding rests solely on the birth, life, and death of Jesus. He is my Savior, my Rock, my Wisdom, my Truth, my Guide, my life. And today is Christmas; the day that remembers and glorifies Jesus our Lord, by remembering the day he was born on this earth.
33 years he lived here, and was the perfect man. Fully man, and fully God. Perfect in every way. He never sinned. He is the perfect role model. There is nothing that he did wrong. Praise God for sending us Jesus! THE way, THE truth, and THE life.
“I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me.
If you really know me,
you will know my father as well.
From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
John 14:6-7
“If you really know me” Jesus said. And we know him by reading the bible. Reading the stories about Jesus, his life, his sufferings, his eventual glory and victory. We read about how Jesus talked to others; challenged others by speaking the truth. Every word out of Jesus’ mouth was life-giving. He is the Wonderful Counselor!!!!!!!
Lately he has been counseling me on resting. Slowing down. Not being rushed. Enjoying the places I am in and the people I am with. Being present. Slowing down my mind.
Something minor that I will work on in 2019 is slooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwinnnnnnngggggggg doooooowwwwwwnnnn and resting in Him.
Resting and focusing. Focusing my eyes up above and worshiping! My goodness. God has blessed me SO richly in every area of my life! I am full.
While it’s true that there are many aspects of my life that are imperfect, Jesus makes me whole.
While it’s true that I am weak and can’t bear my own burdens in healthy ways, Jesus strength is made perfect in my weakness! He is MORE THAN sufficient to take on my challenges and give me the direction, the peace, the know-how 🙂
Born. I was born here because God chose to give me life, and life to the full through the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I wonder if Jesus thought about how he would die on a cross for ungrateful sinners as he lived his life day to day, doing yard work, playing with his friends. Maybe I will ask him one day 😉 In the meantime, I choose joy. I choose to trust Him and all the promises in His word!! Promises of life, joy, hope, glory with Him for all the days of my life. 😀 😀 😀
I choose to Focus on Christ no matter where I am! He made me light and I can’t help but shine in the darkest of places, in the hardest of times. I don’t have to be surprised or depressed by day to day hardships because I know that I have eternal life with Christ! This life is such a blink! And Jesus gives me the energy and strength to take on anyttttttttthiiiiiiiiiiiiiingggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 <3 🙂 <3 🙂 <3
